ECUnited4Afrika

ECUnited4Afrika brings a group of Education City students together to raise awareness of a global issue. Here are words from the organizers.

"The whole concept behind ECUnited4Pakistan was to use the power of crowd sourcing and even the youth of Education City to rally behind one common cause that required our support. We wanted to show that regardless of where our ethnic roots lay, we are united to support others in any form even if there is a significant geographical difference. What matters is that we can come together to make a difference."

- Yasser Khan, talking about ECUnited4Pakistan.

" I am really excited for Ecunited4Afrika. I am sure that we will be able to collect more donations then we collected last year and we will be able to make a difference to the people of Africa. "

- Abdalla Ezadin Abdalla, Texas A&M at Qatar, Graduate' 2011

"I expect ECUnited4Afrika to make people realize what the ECUnited brand is all about: collaboration that brings about change. "

- Saba Singh, Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar

"In giving you get. I really hope that the brand of ECUnited breeds a culture of fundraising, care and giving amongst the targeted youth."

- Rashad Al- Aani, Northwestern University  in Qatar

"ECUnited4Afrika is a wakeup call to all from Education City and wider community across Doha to the world that we care about the plight of the world, regardless of our ethnic roots."

- Yasser Masood Khan, Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar, Graduate' 2011

"I want us, our earlier generations and the coming generation to realize that it takes only few students with real compassion, not to help, but to enable, not just one, but millions of lives"

- Sultana Jesmine, Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar

"ECUnited4Afrika is not an event run by any student affairs department and not even an official student group for that matter. ECUnited4Afrika is just a bunch of EC students that get together and raise awareness and gather help to support an very dire and urgent cause!"

- Florent D'Souza, Northwestern University  in Qatar
