EC SUSTAINABILITY AWARDS

Congratulations to the recipients of the 2011 Education City Sustainability Awards! At the first annual Sustainability Awards Night in April, members of the Education City community were recognized for their accomplishments related to sustainability. Selected from numerous high-quality nominations from throughout Qatar Foundation, six groups and individuals received awards for their achievements:

Excellence in the Classroom
Environmental Systems and Societies – Qatar Academy, International Baccalaureate Course, 11th Grade

Excellence in Research
“Ecologies of Scale” – Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar

Excellence in Community Service
Ibitikar Competition – Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar

Best Performance by an Individual
Dr. Nadem Odeh – Qatar Faculty of Islamic Studies

Best Performance by a Student Group
Qatar Academy, 2nd Grade

Best Performance by a Department
Qatar Foundation Information Technology Directorate
