Role:
The committee and its members shall:
- Promote and sustain effective communication among faculty and staff in Education City. This will facilitate the sharing of ideas and professional concerns related to teaching and academia and stimulate intellectual curiosity and collaboration.
- Advocate for programs and events that will positively influence the overall Education City environment.
- Foster collaboration among the academic institutions and Qatar Foundation in ways that respect autonomy while creating important synergies. This will be accomplished by establishing a commitment to sorting programs into two categories:
- Autonomous initiatives that are unique to the branch or center and reflect the culture and emphasis of its focus and tradition.
- Collaborative initiatives that are most effectively planned and implemented through mutual work of multiple branches and centers and in partnership with Qatar Foundation.
- Use assessment and evaluation to continually improve the learning community and the effectiveness of the Faculty and Staff Life Committee.
- Carry out a commitment to creating a successful Education City experience that draws faculty and staff together and results in a learning community that earns international respect for its innovation and effectiveness.
