Join QF’s new sustainability student organization, GreenEC! Working with GreenEC is a great opportunity to meet other students excited about sustainability, learn about initiatives around Education City and Doha, and help create meaningful change. Students from all Education City universities and the Academic Bridge Program are welcome to take part and help develop QF’s newest student group. GreenEC plans to meet weekly in the fall semester and will have an information meeting on Tuesday, September 20 in the Student Center. The information session will begin at 6:00 PM, and pizza and soda will be provided! The group hopes to host programs and activities with partners around campus. Sustainable Living Ambassadors (SLAs) are Education City students that work five hours a week to educate EC students about topics related to sustainability. SLAs are employed by EC to educate students about resource efficiency, ethical and responsible purchasing, and the impact of their choices on the environment and community. The Sustainable Learning Community (SLC) is a unique living-learning experience focused different aspects of sustainable practices in their everyday lives. The SLC residents are housed in four of the Villas on the Education City campus – sixteen women and sixteen men live in separate houses and participate in joint programs and learning opportunities.
