SAT
The SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) is a standardized test for college admissions in the United States and many countries around the world. The SAT is administered by the College Board Corporation, a non-profit organization in the United States, and is developed, published, and scored by the Educational Testing Service (ETS).
The SAT is a university admission test that measures the critical thinking and problem solving skills that are learned in high school and important for success in college. It is made up of 3 parts: Writing, Mathematics and Critical Reading
The SAT Score
The SAT exam has three scores, each on the scale of 200 to 800. A student score includes writing (W 200-800), mathematics (M 200-800), and critical reading (CR 200-800).
Two sub-scores are given for the writing section: multiple-choice sub-score on a scale of 20-80, and an essay sub-score on a scale of 2-12.
When to take the test?
Students need to plan to take the test so that the results reach the university by the university application deadline (March 1). Many students take the test in during their junior year (Grade 11); however students might also take the test in October, November, or December of their senior year (Grade 12).
How to Apply
You must log on to the SAT website (www.collegeboard.com) and register online; then create a profile account. If you wish to test at Qatar Foundation, please choose ‘Education City’ as your test center of choice.
