2013-14 STUDENT EMPLOYMENT POSITIONS

 

This year, you will have the unique opportunity to get an early start on finding an excellent employment experience for the 2013-2014 academic year. Hamad bin Khalifa University Student Affairs (HBKUSA) has combined the student employment process for Housing and Residence Life and the Student Center to help you:

 

·         Understand the many work experiences available beyond your university campus;

·         Gain transferable interviewing and job searching skills;

·         Have as many chances as possible to have a paid leadership opportunity on campus!

 

In this packet you will find applications for multiple student employment positions available to you through HBKUSA.  The following positions are available through this process:

 

Community Development Advisor (CDA)HBKU Housing and Residence Life

Front Desk Assistants (FDA)HBKU Housing and Residence Life

Orientation Peer Advisor (OPA)HBKU Housing and Residence Life

Sustainable Living Ambassadors (SLA)HBKU Housing and Residence Life

Technology and Communications Assistant (TCA)– HBKU Housing and Residence Life

Programming Student CoordinatorHBKU Student Center

Student Building Manager (SBM)HBKU Student Center

Information Desk StaffHBKU Student Center

Student Recreation StaffHBKU Student Center

Graphic DesignerHBKU Student Center

 

If you are interested in any one or more of these positions, please follow the instructions below:

 

o  Read through the job descriptions for the positions listed above;

o  Identify the position(s) for which you are interested in applying (please mark positions above);

o  Complete page two of this application with your personal information;

o  Identify references and provide their information as requested;

o  Complete and attach the essay questions as directed by the position for which you are applying;

o  Complete the HBKU Permission to Access Academic Standing Form on Page 3;

o  Attach your CV;

o  Attach an unofficial copy of your transcript with your cumulative GPA;

o  Sign the application on Page 2 and 3;

o  Submit your completed application to the Student Center Information Desk on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 between 8:00am and 8:00pm

 

All applications should be submitted in a timely manner with the information requested.  Upon submission of the application, you will be given the opportunity to schedule an individual interview time as well as a group interview time.  It is the applicant’s responsibility to make sure he/she knows the date, time and location of their individual and/or group interview.   Additionally, if through the application process, HBKUSA feels that you may be qualified for a position for which you have not applied, you may be considered for that position.
