LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

In collaboration with our university partners, we strive to help all Education City students explore and develop their individual potential for leadership. In support of the Qatar Foundation mission, the primary focus for our leadership development efforts is expanding human capacity within ourselves and others.

All co-curricular leadership initiatives fall under one of three core areas: leadership education, leadership training, or leadership development.

Leadership education focuses on the acquisition of knowledge and typically involves the study of leadership on a theoretical or macro-level as well as a personal or micro-level.

Leadership training focuses on the development of specific skills in order to improve individual or group effectiveness. Examples might include workshops on running effective meetings, motivating members, etc.

Finally, leadership development represents the infusion of education and training with experience. Leadership development experiences provide students with the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills they have learned to real life situations.
