DOHA VIRGINIA Commonwealth University in Qatar (VCUQ) will hold its ‘Senior Showcase’, a professional networking session to introduce students to employers, on May 1. The event will give employers and the general public an opportunity to meet Qatar’s graduating designers for prospective employment. 

The graduating students will also present their final graphic, fashion and interior design design portfolios on the occasion. 

The school’s gallery will host a special exhibition showcasing a selection of works by the graduating seniors. 

Meanwhile, the institution recorded a huge turnout at the just-concluded Qatar Career Fair. 

VCUQ representatives highlighted job opportunities available at the university to young Qataris. 

They also educated visitors about the various opportunities in design and its benefits in business, fashion, art, architecture, advertising and media in the country. 

According to a press release issued by the institution, “VCUQatar is playing a central role in the contemporary business and cultural life of Qataris and people in the region in the area of design. 

VCUQatar graduates work in various positions in the government establishments and private sector while many of them have also established their own businesses.” VCUQatar has been participating in the career fair since its inception. 

The university supports the design community in the country through gallery exhibitions, international conferences, lecture series, field studies, world-class fashion shows and workshops with visiting delegates presented each year.
