Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF) has won an international certification in purchasing and supply practices, an international certification equivalent to ISO certification. The Silver Certification was granted to QF Purchasing and Supply Department by the British Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS), a leading organization in the management of purchasing and supply established in 1932.

CIPS is an international organization serving the purchasing and supply profession.
Dedicated to promoting good practice, CIPS provides a wide range of services for the benefit of members and the wider business community.In 1992, this CIPS was granted the British Royal Charter in recognition of its status as a centre of excellence and for its role in providing support to the profession.

Qatar Foundation is the first institution in the State of Qatar to get such a prestigious international certification after meeting the globally required standards of good practices, continuous quality improvement, the practical policies and practices in purchases management.Addressing a press conference held today by Qatar Foundation on the occasion, Executive Director of Operations at Qatar Foundation Khalid Abdullah Sulaitin said winning the CIPS Silver Certification is an evidence of the excellence on which Qatar Foundation is keen in all its activities, programmes and administrations, saying QF always aspire for quality of performance and excellence in work.He explained that the department will advance to obtain within the next six months CIPS Gold Certification, the highest rating that any procurement department can get.

For his part, CIPS President Peter Rushton said his organization is proud of cooperation with Qatar Foundation which meets quality standards in its work and performance and managed in short period of time to get this certificate in the management of purchasing and supply.
Ruchton spoke about CIPS saying that it is the largest organization of its kind in the world that grant certification of excellence in purchasing and supply. He said the organization has 65 thousand members from 150 countries.

Meanwhile, CIPS Director in the Middle East Rebecca Fox, , said that Qatar Foundation has been able to fill the 450 gaps in a record period of three months, which shows the ability of the management and staff to work high quality, which prepare them for a Gold Certificate.She noted that QF Purchasing and Supply Department's winning of the silver certification came after a comprehensive and in-depth auditing of regulations, procedures, regulations as well as ethical and environmental practices.
